Meet Emil Brun - Reception and Conference Coordinator

Emil Brun is a reception and conference coordinator at Sinatur Frederiksdal. He has been part of Sinatur Hotel & Konference for five years and one of the things that has surprised him the most is how serious and ambitious Sinatur Hotel & Konference is about having a positive impact on the world. It inspires him when he makes sure that conference guests have the best experience at the hotel every day.

Why do you work at Sinatur?
"I started at Sinatur when I was studying Service, Hospitality and Hospitality Management. Here, our hotel manager took me under his wings. And he offered me to continue. Quickly, I became more and more included and also learned more about what it is that Sinatur wants. Here I realized that Sinatur is not like other hotels. There is a higher purpose than running a hotel with a focus on making money. We try to be innovative in relation to the sustainable initiatives and try to include everyone."

What is the best thing about being part of Sinatur?
"It's the responsibility, the freedom and the flexibility. The confidence there is in the employees and that they know what they are doing."

What does it mean to you that Sinatur is working to become a more sustainable and responsible hotel chain?
"It means a lot. I have not tried before that it has taken up the same amount of space at my previous workplaces. So to get out in a place where they take it seriously, I think is inspiring. Taking it with you, trying to have a positive impact on the world, to pass something on and try to make the world better, we are good at that and it is inspiring."

What does nature mean to you?
"I've always been fond of nature. The freedom and tranquility that exists in nature is something I have always sought for. It's nice to be able to escape the busy everyday life and get out into nature."

Are you happy when you go to work?
"Yes, I would say that I am. Everyone has both good and bad days, but if I have a bad day, it never lasts very long. I have some fantastic colleagues who are good at lifting you up."

What have you been most surprised by while working at Sinatur?
"The most surprising thing is probably how serious Sinatur is with the sustainability strategy and how much it means in everyday life. When I first started at Sinatur, I didn't quite understand how much it was a part of Sinatur Hotel & Konference and how ambitious they actually were. We employees are constantly thinking about how we do things even in the small things. You remember to include it in all projects."

If you have to recommend Sinatur to others, what would you highlight?
"I would definitely recommend Sinatur if you as a person have an ambition to make the world greener. And if you have a desire to be in a workplace where you are given responsibility, heard, where there is a good community and where you feel welcome."
