Restaurant and Chef Simone Falk is proud to be able to run a hotel with a clear conscience towards nature. Simone's job is to provide happy guests and happy colleagues. It has been since she started as a trainee chef at the age of 16. Since then, she was trained as a waiter and slowly she has worked her way up. Now, ten years later, she is the head of both kitchen and restaurant. But even though she has advanced quickly, she has always felt safe, because every step she has taken, she has had the opportunity to develop her skills.
Why do you work at Sinatur?
"I do this because I knew the head chef and was recommended to apply as a trainee and then I persevered."
What is the best thing about being part of Sinatur?
"It's that I know the values and what we stand for. Sinatur is my second family. It is a safe workplace with a healthy environment, where you are seen and heard regardless of whether you are a student or a manager. And it has become a hotel chain that has attitudes and dares to take responsibility. It's a super value. We are seen and heard and the guests know who we are. It gives pride."
What does it mean to you that Sinatur is working to become a more sustainable and responsible hotel chain?
"It means that together we can take care of nature and that we take responsibility. We are first-movers and can help ensure that there is a clean nature for the future."
What does nature mean to you?
"It has charm and it gives energy. Nature is life. It can provide peace for a busy everyday life. I sail a lot and use nature to pick edible berries and herbs. And then nature equals play. I have a son who loves to climb trees in the woods and swim."
Are you happy when you go to work?
"Yes, I'm happy every day. I am very happy to be at Sinatur. My job offers both challenges and successes, but I feel well equipped for my job. I have always received the right courses and educations - also now as a manager."
What have you been most surprised by while working at Sinatur?
"I've been on quite a journey in the years that I've been part of Sinatur. I am surprised that we have succeeded in turning the business around and that we can now run a hotel with a clear conscience and on nature's terms."
If you have to recommend Sinatur to others, what would you highlight?
"Then I would like to emphasize the unity, that it is a workplace with a focus on sustainability, that there is an opportunity for development, that we are first movers and dare to make some decisions. I would also like to highlight that all six hotels are located in scenic surroundings and finally our high level of gastronomy and service."
