Danish Cater

Danish Cater

The collaboration with Dansk Cater began in March 2023. It was a journey that began because the community of values was clear. Like Sinatur, Dansk Cater has a sharp focus on lifting their suppliers and, not least, making demands on them. They also work with less food waste, grow local products and collaborate with organizations on new initiatives.
Among other things, Dansk Cater has entered into the collaboration 'Gartnerhjælpen' with GASA Nord, which is about reselling crooked vegetables that would otherwise be thrown away. These are exactly some of the vegetables that Sinatur buys.

And the work does not stop here, because Dansk Cater's dream is to continue to collaborate on developing new products and, not least, to influence others to also develop in collaboration with their suppliers.
One of the next projects is to develop new cheeses and cold cuts for Sinatur's guests.

Peter Larsen Coffee

Peter Larsen Coffee

Only organic and certified coffee is served to our guests at all Sinatur's hotels. We will show social responsibility in the producing country in collaboration with our coffee supplier, Peter Larsen Kaffe. All coffees from Peter Larsen Kaffe carry at least one of the good brands and many of them more. This proves that the coffee has been grown and produced with consideration for people and the environment. For every kilo of coffee Sinatur buys, we help make a difference for the producers and the environment. Our annual consumption means the following:

  • 1230 kg. Less artificial fertilizer in production, which reduces over-fertilization.
  • 130 kg. Less pesticides in production, which increases biodiversity
  • 11 football pitches, which we have helped to take care of, are converted to organic production, which increases the amount of sustainable coffee.
Coffee Bueno

Coffee Bueno

Sinatur Hotel & Konference has entered into a collaboration with Denmark's first circular company, Kaffe Bueno. Kaffe Bueno collects coffee waste from our hotels with the aim of extracting the coffee oil and using it for shampoos, soaps and moisturizers, which are available at all Sinatur hotels.

When the coffee has been drunk, only one percent of the useful nutrients have been used, and therefore coffee grounds are not really waste, but a valuable resource. Sinatur's goal is to become 100% waste-free by 2030 and therefore all the products we use at the hotels must be included in the circular economy - just like our coffee grounds.

Textiles

Textiles

When you sleep at one of Sinatur's hotels, you can sleep with responsible bed linen. Everything from the hotels' bed linen, tablecloths, cleaning cloths, mats and workwear is from De ForenedeDampvaskerier (Textilia). The bed linen is made with a responsible environmental profile and is elegant, rustic with extra luxurious comfort.

The partnership with Textilia Danmark is an example of how we can jointly promote more responsible consumption and production. This is based on choices that support the circular economy, minimize waste and focus on solutions that extend the life of textiles, while focusing on the carbon footprint of textiles. The collaboration has led to a saving of 4.2 kg of CO2 and 1,500 litres of water for each chef's jacket compared to if we were to get a new one made from a new fabric. Also the cleaning concept, where dirty cloths from Sinatur are included in the processes at their laundries. This can provide a CO2 saving of up to 72%.

Houe

Houe

With Sinatur's collaboration with HOUE, there is a direct turnover of the hard plastic, because it becomes furniture at the hotel. The technology is developed in Denmark and made by Danish designers.
Between 1.5 and 3.2 kg of waste plastic is used for a chair or table - depending on the piece of furniture. As much as 97 percent of the plastic in HOUE's MyTrash collection comes from, for example, Sinatur's kitchen waste. The furniture, which is made from Sinatur's own plastic waste, can be seen at Frederiksdal Sinatur Hotel & Konference and will be added to the other hotels on an ongoing basis as the existing garden furniture is replaced.

Paper mill

Paper mill

One of our partner communities is Papirværk. Papirværk fights paper waste and inspires more recycling and focuses on circular economy. We deliver much of our paper waste to Papirværk, which turns it into printed matter, from their factory in Odense. The printed matter can be found around Sinatur's hotels, both as maps and other items. The printed matter is produced from 100% paper waste from Sinatur's own paper buckets, locally collected at the hotels. The cards contain 0% added glue, 0% added chemicals and 0% added cellulose (wood fibre). Like Sinatur, Papirværk has a strong focus on leaving as little footprint on nature as possible and is therefore very aware of how much CO2 their production emits.

From recycled paper, Papirværk also makes art posters. The art poster, designed by Anine Cecilie Iversen, formed the framework for this year's Christmas gift to Sinatur's contract customers in 2022 and was made 1:1 from Sinatur's own paper waste.
