Should we just close the hotel?

We have a desire to make our hotel and conference business as responsible and sustainable as possible. But we must also recognize that running a hotel leaves a big imprint on the world around us. Hand on heart, we are among the big culprits in our industry. Because it makes a big impact on the environment to operate our hotels when we want to maintain a high level of service and give our guests unforgettable experiences.

So wouldn't it really be more responsible of us to close the hotels?

Of course, we don't think so. We believe that it is important that we have the opportunity to meet, think big thoughts or just enjoy each other's company. Both today and in the future. And we want to be a part of that.

But we are also aware that if we are to continue to have a place in the world, we must redefine what it means to be in a hotel and conference venue. Can we still offer guests the best experiences and at the same time have a conversation about what we can do without at our hotels? Or is it perhaps more about talking about what luxury means to us and whether we can find new and better ways to meet? Should we think nature more into all our activities and make it an even more natural part of our value proposition? Do we need to be much better at thinking in terms of green products?

We are already well underway. For a long time, we have focused on greener menus and further developed our gastronomic code, which will ensure that the food we eat not only tastes good, but also feels good for nature and in the climate accounts. But we also know that we can do even more and that more is needed. And that we can't do it without the help of our guests. Therefore, we also think that one of the most exciting things we can talk about together is what the hotel and conference offer of the future should look like, so that we create positive value for society and the planet.

Of course, we already do this in everyday life, but we want to become even wiser. Therefore, we have invited some of our customers to spend a day with us in our beautiful nature, where we together ask questions about how we can create even better, and greener hotel and conference experiences: What should we keep, what things are we willing to do without, and what opportunities have we not even seen yet? What joint agreement can we make for the future? Maybe together we will find answers that can take us all one step further into a more responsible future?
