When you book a meeting or conference at Sinatur Hotel & Konference, you have already made a good choice. We listen to nature and do business on its terms. This means that we have as little impact on the environment as possible and think responsibility into everything we do.
We also want to inspire our guests to a more climate-friendly lifestyle, because the more we are, the further we go. Therefore, here are a number of ideas on how you can make your meetings and conferences even more sustainable. You'll definitely get more when we see each other!
Suppliers:Â Always choose partners who offer responsible, certified solutions.
Printed material: Make sure to minimize the printed material by sending out agendas, participant lists and presentations digitally.
Nameplates:Â Choose bioplastic pockets or name tags, which can be reused many times. Remember to encourage participants to hand them in again.
Roll-ups:Â You can have them made from bamboo and choose a generic message so you can use the same roll-ups for multiple events.
Driving:Â Arrange public and/or shared transport whenever possible. For example, you can pick up the participants in a bus or help arrange carpooling based on the participant list.
Guests from abroad: Save the flight and use a virtual connection for foreign speakers and attendees.
Food and drinks: Choose the good, local and organic ingredients in season and do something good for the environment. We do. And give participants the opportunity to choose the healthier alternative to snacks, so that good energy is supplied to the brain during a busy day.
Save on service:Â Washing dishes also requires resources, so make sure to reuse glasses and coffee cups, for example.
Digital notes: Suggest to the participants that they minimize paper consumption by taking notes on a PC or tablet.
Minimize Print: If you need to have something printed, you can ask for it to be printed on both sides of the paper. We always do that at Sinatur. And of course, we use FSC-labelled paper. If you are printing for distribution, please consider. whether it is also necessary. It is our experience that many participants leave printed material in the room.
Enjoy nature: Involve nature and make the day memorable with fun outdoor activities that do not burden the surroundings. We are happy to come up with good ideas for experiences at our hotels.
Recycling:Â Remember to collect name tags, notepads, etc. so that they can be reused next time.
Presentations:Â Send out the day's presentations as attachments by email or make them available online so that participants can download them themselves.
A fun memory from the day: If the participants need to take a memory home with them, it can be a "budding pencil": After use, it is stuck in the ground and turns into a herb. You can also get seedpaper that can be planted.
